♡Journal/ diary prompts and ideas!♡

Dear diary...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING πŸ¦ƒ I hope your day is filled with delicious food, safe visits from friends and family and amazing naps after dinner.

🀎

So a few months ago I was looking through all of my journals/diaries that I had from I believe 2018-2020. As I was checking them out, I noticed that I had really committed to them and wrote A LOOOTT of stuff!!!

And completely filled it.

While I was looking at them, I kind of thought to myself: "Why don't I do this anymore?" Half of it is because during quarantine I completely ran out of things to write about (because there was nothing going on) and the other half is because I got lazy and I have strange handwriting lol.

In these diaries weren't only just daily logs and emotional vents, it had collages, playlists, recipes, to do's, activity lists, dried flowers, pomegranate juice stains (dont ask) diy stickers and a bunch of other stuff! Recently on Pinterest, Its become popular to have scrapbook-like journals and I thought that was so funny because that's exactly what I was doing back then! most of the inspiration for my journals were from Rookie mag (RIP) and I would use the printable collage kits and coloring pages that they would make every month to decorate my diaries. (Memories...)

So to honor my past decorated diaries I wanted to start writing again! One difference between my journaling process from then to now is that now I actually have a desk so I have a space where I can actually write that isn't my bed or just the carpet.

But you should know by now...I can't JUST have a regular desk. No.

✨🀎

✨I have a cottagecore, regal, Brigerton, Phantom of the opera, Beauty and the Beast type desk. Do I have to be this extra? Not really. Does it help though? Definitely.

So because it's still Autumn and everything is really warm, cozy and full of studying and writing, I thought why not start start writing again...but make a space for it and add nice scenery.

So here's my checklist for my current journaling process.

1. grab your favorite candle(this one is from Target)

2. ♡Get your favorite hot drink (African nectar + coconut creamer)

3. .Grab your journal/diary + a pen!

Personally for me, I mostly journal and write at night, but you can really do it any time you want to! Just make sure you have the time and space ready to do it.

I know some people who get really excited about getting a new diary/journal and once they finally get it, they open the first page and...they have no idea what to do with it... (I am "some people.")

I'm also one of those people who wants their journal to look extremely perfect, to the point where they just give up and don't put anything in it because it doesn't look like a library book!

If you're also one of those people, then here's 2 things to know.
