♡LIFE OF A BLACKBIRD NO. 3♡
Hello!!!
So, remember when I kept saying that my next post (now my next, next post) that I would be talking about 'Stranger Things'.
Last year in October, my mom told me about this event called the:
"Stranger Things: Drive-Into Experience."
Once I heard the words "Stranger Things" and "drive into" I was already on board, no questions asked. At the time all of the tickets were sold out because it was a few weeks before Halloween and people didn't really have plans because of lockdown.
So I waited ALLLLLL year, until this January and I finally went!!!
Basically, you drive through this big mall parking lot and the outside of the mall and the inside of the parking lot is decorated to look like the show!
Everything was 80s themed from the outside of the lot and when you drive into the parking lot building, It's all creepy and it looks just like the upside-down and the Russian headquarters that was in Starcourt!!!! (sorry if I spoiled anything for you).
When you get there you have to tune your radio to their station so you can hear all of the characters speaking and the creepy sound effects.
There are actors that run around your car dressed as the characters from the show. (a Demogorgan almost tried to eat our car and it freaked me out so badly!!!!)
I couldn't take pictures or film the whole thing because they ask you not to but I did get the outside and what I wore for the event.
💙
CUE THE 80S MUSIC!!!
Yea, I really did that....
Yea, I planned this look a year before we even WENT to the event because I was so pumped.
We went to Chick-fil-a before we headed to the event and while we were in the drive through the guy who was taking our order was staring at me wondering what the heck I was wearing.
(I tried so hard not to make direct eye contact and make it weirder.)
I feel like a lot of people don't watch Stranger Things because they think its EXTREMELY scary, but the storyline, plot twist, sci-fi effects and the amazing actors actually make it pretty bearable to watch. The only problem is its pretty gross (slime, blood, dead bodies, unknown fluids, guts, you can imagine the rest.)
So if you're squeamish, mayyyyybe don't watch it. Just saying...
Even though the show isn't that scary to me, I HATE jump scares so I brought a plushie just in case there was. (luckily there were no jumpscares. Thank you Jesus...) (This is Minty Bun by the way...)
*nervous stranger things music*
*Crying* ITS HOPPERS CAR!!!!
Me and my family literally just started watching the show while we were in quarantine, (mainly because I was too young to watch it when it first came out) so this event came at the exact right time!
At the end I did a mini photoshoot in the lot.

🖤I really channeled my inner Billy Idol for this event🖤

Thats all I have to say....
The show was amazing, scary, creative, sad, colorful, depressing, emotional, fantastic, trippy, beautiful, SHALL. I. GO. ON.
I already know who I will be cosplaying as in the future:
HECKIN' MONICA RAMBEAU!!!!!!
While on the topic of cosplay, since I have never gone to a convention (mostly because they're some what expensive and... you know, I think there's a pandemic going on idk.)
Ive been trying to cosplay at home more while looking at some of the BHM 28 day cosplay challenge on ig.
The first cosplay I did was Miyuki Ayukawa from 'Basquash!'
This cosplay was pretty easy and Ive honestly always wanted to cosplay as her because she looks like me!
That was all I wanted to show. I hope that you all have a good week!
Love, Brook
