♡Life of a Blackbird No.1♡
Hey!
❤So, I've been looking at other blogs and trying to get inspiration for this one. I've seen lots of bloggers create "Day in the life" type posts so, I decided every now and then that I would blog about
what I'm thinking about, stuff I like or something cool I did recently.❤
So here it is!
π
Yesterday my family and I had to run an errand and this is the outfit I wore.
"Were all mad here"
I just have to say... I LOVE THESE TIGHTS!!!
They're sooooo cute!
These tights are my Mom's and you've probably seen this
romper (Target) from my New York post
and my faux-Docs are from Amazon.

The sunglasses on my head are from Forever 21 and I made this key necklace from some old decorative keys that I think were from Amazon too. πΌ Recently, I've been watching My Hero Academia on Hulu excessively for the past 2 or 3 weeks! The show is really, really good and I like the characters and the storyline a lot. So far I've made it to season two and all I have to say is...
So far my favorite characters are Tsuyu, Uraraka, Denki, Jiro, Midoriya and Todoroki. |
I've been wanting to watch more anime during the summer but I usually do stuff while watching tv like drawing. Since I watch it with subtitles, I have to really try to pay attention to what's
going on without being distracted.
I don't think I really realized how popular the show is until I started watching it.
Now I know why...THE SHOW IS AWESOME!!!

I've been on a music loop this week for a few days now.
Here are some of the songs that have been on replay for me:
- 1979 - Smashing Pumpkins
- Pyramid Song - Radiohead
- Fire Flies - Gorillaz
- Moonlight Shawty - Fatboibari, Shiloh
- Clear Tamei - Iglooghost
- Poison Arrow - Yeule
- Busted and Blue - Gorillaz

Speaking of songs, I saw a video of this woman named Melissa McCracken and she's a painter with
synesthesia. If you don't know what synesthesia is, it's this weird neurological phenomenon *pushes up glasses* where some people's senses get mixed up with their other senses causing them to maybe hear a sound and picture it as a color or shape or think that numbers and letters have personalities.
She would listen to songs and paint them how she sees them in her brain!
"Imagine"- John Lennon
"Little Wing" - Jimi Hendrix
I came to the conclusion a long time ago that I have synesthesia because when I was little (and still now) I would associate letters and numbers with colors and personalities. I tend to do this while doing math homework. I'll also match a song to a certain visual or a color to a certain weekday. This week I tried to do what Melissa did and paint some of my current favorite songs.
This one is "Pyramid Song"- Radiohead
Busted and Blue - Gorillaz
And the last one is Fire Flies - Gorillaz
For some of them I tried to take inspiration from the album cover or song lyrics to paint them.
They're not as good Mellissa's but I'm still proud of myself.

Last month Lily turned 1!!!!!!
It's so crazy that we've already had her for one whole year.
She's grown a lot since we got her. She's almost an adult now!

I'm such a proud Cat Mom..
π
While I'm on the topic of cats, this weekend my family & I watched "Cats."
Even though it has -10 star reviews everywhere we still wanted to see if it was THAT bad.
Honestly, the music and dancing was amazing! I really like theater and they definitely did a good job with that. I will admit though, the characters were realllllly creepy looking. They had a pretty disturbing scene where there were some cockroach-people dancing and the cats started eating them.
This was very unnecessary and gross!
Plus, they thinned out the plot so much that it wasn't as interesting as the staged version
and they didn't even include half of the characters in the film.
Overall I give it 5/10.
Why are these so accurate???!
Lol!
I've been a Hamilton fan for over 5 years now.
One of my friends told me about the musical one weekend at church and I've loved it ever since, So when I found out that I could watch it on Disney+ ANY TIME I WANT TO WITHOUT TICKETS, I was over the top excited!!! I actually was supposed to go see the play around the time of my birthday,
but due to certain circumstances...........
I couldn't go but I like the movie better because you can see them up close. I also wouldn't have been able to see the original cast in the theater so, I really enjoyed the film version.
πANGELICA!
ELIZA!π
πAND PEGGGYY!!!!π
My favorite songs from the show right now are Yorktown (World Turned Upside Down),
Hurricane and The Schuyler Sisters.
I actually got to meet "Aaron Burr" (AKA the great Leslie Odem Jr!) in LA at his listening party for his new album "Mr." He was so nice and as cool in person as he is on stage. (:
I highly recommended listening to "Mr." because he is extremely talented and amazing on this album.
Here's the album

I made some cucumber Agua Fresca yesterday.
The Ingredients include:
- 1 or 2 cucumbers
- 2 or 3 cups of water
- As much sugar as you want
- Key lime
- Optional: Chia seeds, basil or other drinks
It turned out really good and refreshing!

Because of Covid I haven't been able to do most of the things I wanted to do this summer so, I'm trying to look forward to fall. I already started making a box of all my fall decorations and making Pinterest boards for Halloween/autumn parties at home.
Where I live we don't get rain very often so I really hope that it rains this October.
PLEASE RAIN...
It did rain the last 2 years during fall & "winter" so I'm hoping it'll rain again.
Hopefully our drought is finally over!

Last week my family and I found out that Netflix would be bringing back Brandy's show "Moesha"!
My parents used to watch it and I remember watching one of the episodes on YouTube
but the quality on Netflix is much better. Brandy really hasn't aged AT ALL.
"MO to the, E to the!"
Kim kinda reminds me of Dijonay from The Proud Family!
πͺ
I've also been watching this other 90's show called "Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales For Ever Child"
on HBO. This show WAS my childhood!!! My Mom taped all the episodes for me and I would watch them almost every day. It's a really cool animated series of classic fairytales but they added diversity to the stories and changed them up a bit. So, Cinderella is Latina, Goldilocs is Jamaican
and Snow White is Native American.
"King Midas"
"Little Mermaid"
"Cinderella"
"Puss in Boots"
The show was narrated by Robert Guillaume and lot of famous black actors have done voices on the show like Whoopi Goldberg, Denzel Washington, Cree Summer, James Earl Jones and many more.
It was really helpful in showing me diversity as a little kid, I honestly don't even have a favorite episode, they're all so cool!
π
If you're bored (like 99% of the the population right now) I highly recommend watching
Rhett and Link's Good Mythical Morning show on Youtube.
If you don't know what that is, it's a very strange and entertaining Youtube show where these two guys named Rhett and Link do weird challenges like "Does whipped cream go with everything?"
(The answer is no) or the "Leaving things underground for a month (Experiment)."
That one was weird. This is a picture of them...
Yes, they are dressed as the Grady Twins from The Shining.
It was a Halloween special and I decided to use this screenshot because I thought it was funny! XD
..and here they are bathing in a huge bowl of Cereal!
Here's a link to one of their videos
πΌ
Well, that was everything that I wanted to say!
This post is a lot longer than my usual one but I enjoyed writing about what I've been doing.
WEAR A MASK,
Wash your hands,
and Stay Safe!
