♡Things To Do When Your're Bored This Summer♡
Hello!
So, the weather is getting warmer and that means summer is approaching.
(YAY!!!)
Usually, I'll make a long list of fun things to do and never do them or
I'll have no inspiration to do anything.
But this year I've made a really long list of things
I want to do in the summer.
Since I have some cool ideas I wanted to show you them
so you could have some fun activities for the summer too!
1.
A really big hobby of mine is being creative and making things!
So, I find doing something artistic is a pretty fun activity for the summer.
This summer I really want to start sewing and maybe embroidering.
Something I like to make is my own pins and patches.
They're pretty easy to do and really addictive to make.
(I've made about 15 of them...)
I also like to write in a journal a lot.
I remember when I started my journal, I thought that I wouldn't finish it
but I've kept up with it for a while!
One thing I've also started to make is these small dioramas out of boxes.
I made one that was a tribute to Rookie Mag
and recently made a tribute to my favorite historical women.
(picture above)
I find that Pinterest has A LOT of cool DIYs that you could try for more inspo.
2.
Okay, this is pretty self explanatory.
I remember when I was little and my Mom tried to get me to do this
but I thought it was insane!
Who would eat breakfast for dinner?!?
Now that I'm more comfortable with the idea I want to try it.
This would also be a really fun sleepover idea to do with friends.
One of my favorite breakfast foods are pancakes and waffles. Try adding
dessert items to them like ice cream, chocolate syrup or maple, sprinkles and strawberries.
Maybe make a pancake making station and lay out all the toppings along with the pancakes.
This would defiantly be a great time to try bacon pancakes.
(I love Adventure Time!)
3.
Not too long ago I started rollerskating and I love it!
Me and my friends go sometimes after classes together.
Recently I found out about Indy Jamma Jones who is a part of the Moxie Skate Team.
(A group of female skaters from Long Beach)
She has two Youtube channels called Planet Roller-skate and INDY JAMMA JONES
Her channels are full of tips and tricks on how to skate like a pro.
So check her out
I also found out that my Grandfather was AMAZING at roller skating.
He started skating in his 40's and kept going well into his senior years.
That's probably why I like skating so much!
4.
Popsicles are pretty much a summertime essential so, why not make some!
Usually I just put soda or lemonade in the freezer but I want
to try to actually make some with fancier ingredients this time.
If you don't have the supplies or you don't feel like waiting for
them to freeze. Just buy a bunch of them...
5.
This is also self explanatory.
JUST GO OUTSIDE!!!
The summer time is a pretty good time To be outside
except if its 101 degrees, then don't leave your house.
Here are some ideas for things you can do outdoors:
- Read in the park
- Have a picnic
- Ride your bike, roller-skate, skateboard
- Chill in a kiddie pool
- Draw
- Take pictures of nature
- Press flowers
- Go to the beach or a lake
- Play in the sprinklers
- Eat your popsicles
- Draw on the sidewalk with chalk
- Write in a Journal
Me outside for aesthetic purposes |
6.
Here's another outdoor activity...
One thing about me is that I really like animals and creatures.
So an activity to do is to try be around them.
Go outside and take pictures of different animals whether its a pet
or a bird or even bugs.
(my neighborhood has stray cats that walk around.)
I always like feeding the ducks and other birds.
Most recently, I've started to feed the birds on my balcony
and its made me feel like MOTHER NATURE!!
You can also look in the dirt for cool insects
but ALWAYS be kind to these creatures no matter what.
Thank you.
7.
This summer go the library and get a bunch of books you want to read.
I recommend not getting a lot of big chapter books
because it will take longer to read all of them until you have to take them back.
Whenever I go to the library I always stay in there for hours and
come out with a bunch of books.
Here are some books i'm reading right now plus some comics and a magazine
that I like to read over and over!
Being comfortable when you're reading is important so
here are some places to read
- A big couch
- Outside *again*
- In a fort
- On a bed
- In a bathtub (fill it with blankets and pillows)
- The beach
- A cafe
- In the car (I do this a lot cause I can't drive...)
- A hammock
- A fluffy bean bag chair
- The pool
- A library (duh)
8.
This is one of my favorite things to do!
turn off the lights, get a small light up disco ball or fairy lights
and just dance you heart out. This is the best time to practice
some dance moves you've want to try.
Here's a playlist for dancing:
- Sticky - Ravyn Lenae
- Dancing With My Self - Billie Idol
- Wet Jeans - Amindi K Fro$t
- Every little Thing She Does is Magic - The Police
- Oblivion - Grimes
- Venezuela Trains - Ravyn Lenae
- Let My Baby Stay - Amandla Stenberg
- Love is a Battlefield - Pat Benatar
- In My Dreams - Kali Uchis
- Everything She Wants - Wham!
I know, kinda a weird mix of songs but these are songs that I find dance worthy...
9.
I don't know why but I think fries and burgers are a summertime food
but I wanted to show you how to make them from scratch.
1. Get some potatoes
2. Wash and scrub them
3. Optional: Peel the skin off your potatoes
4. Cut into fry-like pieces
Frying:
5. Get a deep skillet
6. Fill the skillet half way with canola oil
7. Turn on the skillet and let the oil get hot
8. Put your fries in the hot skillet *Be VERY careful when you put them
in the oil because it will splash and burn you*
9. Watch the fries until they become golden brown
10. Once they're brown take a spatula and put the fries onto a
paper towel to drain the excess oil
11. Then sprinkle with salt or spices while hot
Baking Version:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
Once you've done that follow step 1, 2 , 3 and 4
After you cut the fries, take a cookie sheet and cover it with foil.
Once the foil is on top of the cookie sheet, spray the sheet with cooking spray
Take your fries and spread them evenly on the sheet
Then spray your fries with cooking spray
Put in the oven until they're brown
And BOOM fries!
Here are some topping ideas for them
- Cheese
- Bacon
- Onion salt
- Seasoning salt
- Chilie powder
- Cinnamon and sugar (weird but good!)
- Parmesan
- Chives
- Hot sauce
- Garlic powder
10.
Summertime is the most common season in movies
so why not watch all of them?
I can't name all of them but some typical ones are Grease,
One Crazy Summer, Dirty Dancing, Parent Trap, Moonrise Kingdom,
Mama Mia, Roman Holiday and a lot more!
(Best to watch all of these in Pajamas while doing activity #2)
Okay that was all of my main summer ideas.
Now its time for a LIGHTING ROUND!!!
11.
*Phew* This post was long.....
I hope you enjoyed this summery post
and I hope that you'll have an amazing summer.
Bye!
